POETRY: Headed

My head is heavy
My thoughts are many
Save me
From this mental agony
Return me
To emotional solitary

My head is tipping
I am tripping
Freewheeling
Where this road of life is leading
Bumpy, erratic, unforgiving
Exciting?

My head falls
It gets caught
In a massive web of thought
Emotional somersault
Is this a mind circus? Naught!
A reality jackpot ...
Myriad wrongs are wrought
To make one right taut

My head is level
Looking down the road untraveled
The forks and the humps, they don't matter
The smell of flowers
and the songbird's chatter
I declare!
Ready for where I am headed.
